What is ACP / ACM / Alu-Panel / Aluminium Composite Panel?
First thing’s first, it’s whatever one of those names you wish to call it. Alu-Panel is abbreviated and nicknamed many things in different industries. Being such a versatile product, Alu-Panel is used for various tasks in many different environments.
Aluminium Composite Panel (ACP, ACM, Alu-Panel) is still a relatively new product to a lot of the world. Alu-Panel sheets are the perfect canvas for signwriting as they’re lightweight, weather resistant and strong – making for easy application and installation while providing a beautifully flat finished surface and going on to stand the test of time. Previously, far more expensive materials such as the iconic “Weatherboard” were once used for signwriting, however, problems: Weatherboard is VERY heavy, difficult (and costly) to install and most noteworthy is that weatherboard breaks down over time quite shockingly. Solution: Aluminium Composite Panel! Alu-Panel is now Australia’s widest use substrate for exterior (and even interior) signwriting.

Yes. ACP signboards are lightweight, rigid and highly practical for outdoor signage applications. The aluminium faces provide a smooth, durable print surface, while the composite construction provides considerably more rigidity than many flexible sign materials. This substrate is commonly used for building signage, business signs, property signage, construction signs and other long-term outdoor applications. If you opt for the “Outdoor” specification when ordering, your artwork is printed onto a specialty Outdoor Grade print media before being applied onto the substrate and then (if selected) receives an additional UV protective laminate layer applied to maximuse the life of your sign/s in outdoor exposure against Mother Nature.
Great question! And the answer depends on where you are located. Our aluminium composite panel (ACP / ACM) signs are run in production facilities located Gold Coast QLD, Cairns QLD, Brisbane QLD, Sydney NSW, Melbourne VIC & Perth WA so depending on where you are based or where you need your signage delivered to, we will either run it out of the nearest production facility to you, or the one offering fastest service to your delivery address, ensuring timely turnaround from production through to dispatch and local delivery – with no shortcuts taken along the way.

Every order goes through a controlled artwork and production process.
Once your order is placed, we review the supplied artwork and prepare it for production where required. An artwork proof is then sent to you for approval.
Production does not commence until the required artwork approval has been received unless in circumstances where you have supplied absolute print-ready artwork with confidence OR you’re placing a re-order.
Once approved, your artwork is placed into production where it is then applied onto the aluminium composite panel substrate using commercial print equipment and UV-cured inks. UV printing allows the ink to cure rapidly under ultraviolet light, producing an immediately dry, durable print which is instantly then ready for the next production stage – which is having the UV protective laminate applied to add extra life to your signs where applicable.
The finished alu-panel signs with your printed artwork/s are then trimmed to the required finished dimensions, safely packaged and dispatched to your chosen address – WITH FREE DELIVERY!
“Aluminium composite panels (ACP), made of aluminium composite material (ACM), are 3mm thick flat panels consisting of two coil-coated aluminium sheets bonded to a non-aluminium (often Polyethylene) core. ACPs are frequently used for external cladding or facades of buildings, insulation, and signage.” – This is why so many people refer to it as Sandwich Board, because it’s essentially, a tasty sandwich where the Aluminium is the bread, and Polyethylene is the meat in the middle. (don’t eat it, we tried it so you didn’t have to) – this layered “sandwich” formation becomes a super rigid, lightweight & durable foundation perfect for long-term signage in Australian environments.
Aluminium composite signs are suitable for a wide range of indoor and outdoor signage applications, including business signs, building signs, construction signage, real estate signs, directional signs, safety signs, site signs, promotional signage, property signs, retail signage and branded display boards. How quickly can I receive my alu-panel signs?
Our standard production turnaround for aluminium composite panel signs is shown above and is calculated from the moment your artwork has been approved. Once your artwork proof is approved, we move your order into production. Your finished signs are then securely packaged and dispatched to your nominated Australian delivery address.

We strictly commit to a minimise-waste approach throughout our production process.
Rather than treating every piece of unused material as waste, we actively look for opportunities to reuse suitable media and substrate offcuts. Depending on their size and condition, offcuts can be repurposed for packaging, corner protection and other production purposes. This is something we actively do day-in day-out as a team and are proud of.
